Background image in IntelliJ IDEA New UI

Hi, a quick one! I’ve just realized that the New UI in IntelliJ supports a background image - so I decided to give it a try.

I’m pretty sure it wasn’t possible in IDEA for a while (probably before the New UI was released) - but I’m not sure now.

Anyway, it’s possible now - so you can upgrade the look of your editor!

I’ve recently been to the Seven Sisters and Eastbourne and took a picture there and it works really well as the background.

It works in all sidebars (project tree, REPL, terminal) and looks fantastic to my taste.

Here is what you need to do:

Enable the New UI in IDEA: Settings → Appearance & Behaviour → New UI
Set background image: Settings → Appearance & Behaviour → Appearance → UI Options
